Clinical and Surgical Head, Neck, and Neuroanatomy

Banner for the Clinical and Surgical Head, Neck, and Neuroanatomy Showing a 3D Rendering of the Cavernous SinusThis novel five-part lecture series utilizes exquisite 3D cadaveric anatomy to help students and junior practitioners understand the course of each cranial nerve and their complex anatomical relationships with surrounding vessels, bone, muscle, dura, and connective tissues. Students will take a virtual journey along each cranial nerve from its origins in the brain to its cranial exit, exploring the different anatomical structures encountered along the way. By the end of the course, students should have a thorough understanding of the clinically relevant anatomy of the skull base—some of the most challenging and densely packed anatomy in the entire body—including the course of each cranial nerve; anterior, middle, and posterior cerebral circulation; meningeal architecture; and boney landmarks.

Course Objectives
To provide students with an in-depth three-dimensional understanding of the anatomy of and anatomical relationships between the complex intracranial neurovasculature, including the intracranial courses of all cranial nerves and their respective vascular, soft tissue, and bony relationships.

Target Audience
This is an advanced course designed to help prepare medical students pursuing postgraduate training in neurosurgery, otolaryngology, radiology, or neurology.
